What is the Supervised Independent Living (SIL) Program?

The Supervised Independent Living (SIL) Program is part of the New Opportunities Waiver and is designed to teach individuals with developmental disabilities to live as independent as possible in a home setting.  In the program, consumers learn valuable skills such as money management, safety, cooking, housekeeping, social skills, hygiene, grooming and the use of community resources.


Who qualifies for services?

Individuals disabled during the developmental period (before age 22) who meet both SSI Disability criteria and the level of care determination for an ICF/MR

How can people get New Opportunities Waiver (NOW) services?

To add your name to the Request for Services Registry contact the Office for Citizens with Developmental Disabilities at 1-866-783-5553
