What is the Elderly and
Disability Adult (EDA) Waiver? |
|
The Elderly and Disability Adult (EDA) Waiver is a service to
qualified elderly and adults with disabilities. Personal care
attendants help consumers to live independently with support in
their communities rather than in a nursing home or institution.
This program provides assistance with such activities as:
personal hygiene, light household chores, shopping, meal
preparation, eating, bathing, dressing, and toileting. |

Who qualifies
for services?

Individuals age
65 or older can qualify if they meet Medicaid financial
eligibility; meet the requirements for admission to a nursing
facility.

Individuals age
21-64 who are disabled according to Medicaid standards of SSI
disability criteria

get Elderly and Disability Adult (EDA) Waiver services?

to the EDA Request for Services Registry contact the Louisiana
Options in Long Term Care Help Line at 1-877-456-1146, Monday to
Friday, 8 a.m. –5 p.m.
